This Week at AAPLD: 5/22-5/28

Summer is ALMOST HERE! This week is pretty quiet as we gear up for summer programming. Registration for summer programs is now in full swing, and we are so excited to see so many programs filling up quickly!

Several YS staff members had the pleasure of visiting with are schools over the past few weeks. Shoutout to Westfield, Eastview, Neubert, Algonquin Lakes, and Algonquin Middle School for allowing us to come in and talk about the Summer Reading Program! AMS students were able to walk over to the Eastgate Branch to learn about the SRP, hear some book talks, and then browse and take books home. We had a blast seeing all of the kids in person this year. If your student recognizes us from a school visit, please encourage them to come say hi!

The Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 1st. This year’s theme is Read Beyond the Beaten Path. Children can read to earn small prizes, and when they complete the program they will receive a free t-shirt and a paperback book of their choice.

The weekly craft will be on hiatus for the rest of May, but stop by to look through our leftover previous crafts and grab any you may have missed, while supplies last.

Registration is now open for May, June, and July programs!
