April 2020 Library Programs Canceled

We are sad to announce that they Library will have to cancel its April programs in addition to its March programs. We are optimistic about our May programs with the exception of Free Comic Book Day. In the meantime, we will continue to provide some virtual programming.

Free Comic Book Day Information

Diamond Comics Distributor, the largest comics distributor in the United States, has announced a shutdown for publications scheduled after April 1, 2020. Not only does this affect the Library’s access to comics but it also affects comic book shop’s access to comics — including our local supplier, Modern Age Comics. We ordered tons of free comics for you guys and they will get here…eventually.

Free Comic Book Day, the organization, has also postponed the event. We know you love Free Comic Book Day. We love it too. For this event, we do plan on rescheduling it later on in the summer. Stay tuned.

Virtual Storytimes

Please check out our Storytime page for the virtual storytime schedule. Miss Alexa, Miss Kimberly, and Miss Jen, are all conducting storytimes online for our youngest library users. Bonus to online storytime: No registration necessary! Find old videos on the Library’s Facebook page.

Virtual Programs

Miss Tara will be reading Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus online everyday at 2:00pm. This will be on the Library’s Facebook page.

Miss Holly is working with Girls Who Code to get the 3-5th Grade Club up and running virtually.

Miss Jenni is working on creating some science experiment videos, so keep watch for those!
