We love reading and we love Algonquin! So we combined the two in the best possible way: Storytime at Historic Village Hall! This is a unique storytime with all the stories, songs and fingerplays that we offer in our regular storytimes at the library, but also gives you a little taste of Algonquin's historic downtown area by the Fox River. Speaking of history, did you know that the first library in Algonquin was inside the Historic Village Hall? It's true! Read more about that here! Pretty cool, right?
You know what else is great about this event? All the things you can do nearby before or after enjoying a fun storytime! There are many great parks, shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it easy to turn this into an exciting day out and about on the town. Play on a playground, relax by the river, or grab some lunch. Come for the Storytime at Historic Village Hall and stay for all the great things the village has to offer!
Keep an eye on the schedule of events for these great offsite events. They are drop-in events, so just come on in if you can make it! The next two coming up will be on Thursday, February 15 at 10:30 am and Thursday, March 8 at 10:30 am.
